Dog Park coming as early as Spring '08!

I have great news guys! WCPR has assigned Phyllis Huffman to oversee the dog park project. Phyllis stated that the county should release funding mid-January and construction will begin shortly there after. With any luck, we can all meet for the grand opening in the Spring!

I know everyone is immensely excited to finally see this come to fruition. Stay tuned and I'll keep you informed as now info arrives.

i drive to Centennial dog park from Nolensville every weekend. the facility and "atmosphere," as one commentor said, is one of the best i've seen in Nashville and surrounding area. I would hope that this new dog park would model it by not having all the agility equipment which just gets in the way of the dogs and owners. I agree that the chain link fence is very unattractive and would like to see a better fence put up. I hope that my financial contribution goes towards a dog park that would make Nolensville proud. Otherwise the dogs and i will continue driving to Centennial every week.

I respectfully disagree with anonymous. I donated to the dog park hoping for agility equipment for my border collie, who absolutely loves it. We have nowhere else to go to play, and he needs the exercise. We do walks, but he needs agility. Please leave the agility equipment in the plan!!! I don't understand what agility equipment would be "In the way" of? If your dog doesn't like agility equipment, then take him for a walk. What do you need a dog park for? I will be seriously disappointed if I donated to a planned agility park that will have no agility equipment.

we have visited several dog parks containing agility equipment in various cities across the country and more often than not, the agility equipment comes down due to lack of usage and the cost of maintanence of the equipment. My pups love the freedom to RUN and not just walk as i've seen many dogs do at our dog park downtown. yes, walks are great for exercise but dogs also love to run and play fetch and chase without having to dodge agility "stuff". Whatever the outcome, i will most likely continue going to Centennial and still hope that my financial contribution goes towards a dog park worthy of the beautiful town of Nolensville.
